Taggart Partners is an accounting and business advisory practice specialising in working for small to medium businesses in the Hunter Valley.
Established in 1952 by Alan Taggart, the practice was located in a small office in Denison Street Hamilton. With Alan’s soon-to-be-wife, Norma who assisted with typing and bookkeeping, as the only employee they worked for just two clients.
The practice grew rapidly, moving to new premises on Beaumont Street in 1954. By this time, it had three permanent staff providing a full range of accountancy and tax services to small businesses.
Alan continued to expand the business and moved it to Belford Street, Broadmeadow, where he remained principal partner until his retirement in June 2000.
The firm has since grown under the direction of Ross Taggart to employ a team of professional accounting and support staff.
Ross appointed Melanie Hamilton and Cameron Tink as Associates of the firm in 2009 and with their team of accountants and administrative support staff now provide professional accounting for more than 400 businesses and individuals.
In May 2010 the firm made the strategic decision to relocate into the Hamilton business district and is now located on the first floor (above the NAB) on the corner of Beaumont and Donald Streets.
